This is a dense post, and gets a little personal towards the back half. This is for the terminally curious borrowers only. I’ll start with the lighter stuff, though –

I explain in the audio log, but only because of Pinterest did I find out Danny had posted these to Spotify. I felt compelled to do some free association, almost treating the album art like a tarot card. It starts to sound more like a Sunday sermon when I talk about Daniel in the Lions den, and soft strength ft. Paddington Bear. A bit about secular ritual at the end there as well. The part about soft strength reminded me of the tarot card “strength”, since it is traditionally depicted as a woman gently and lovingly subduing a lion.

Random YouTube recommend, but I knew I needed to parody it to laugh at myself a bit. Doubly so, because Chicago mentioned. Ironically, by joking about it, I can see how being passionately unserious is ok sometimes, actually.

This is the point of no return for the over-sharing. Talking about shame wounds, vulnerability and specificity in art making, etc.

I’ll just let the audio log speak for this one, except to say – this is a mashup between “your idol” in K-pop Demon Hunters and “hellfire” from Disney’s hunchback. The lyrics written are “Play another verse, anytime it hurts, I can be your sanctuary.” And “It’s not my fault, if in God’s plan, he made the devil so much stronger than a man.”

This is the creator I referenced, and my comment-

To not end on a completely depressing note, here is a sketch I probably will finish next – he turned out super cute, imo. Also, this picture from Pinterest which I made into and now is my new favorite discord emote. His expression just really captures…my life, at the moment. That never ending refrain, “and what am I suppose to do with that incredibly painful/terrifying information, other than smile in numb surrender”.

….i think that counts as depressing, shit.
