I’m trying to split the hair of following what sparks joy, and not following the rabbit back down the wonderland hole. It’s been a day of self indulgence for sure. This post is pretty in the weeds danny content lore wise, but I’m also talking about storytelling and potentially dabbling in beat-making.
This teirlist was inspired by one on his subreddit, which had me pushing my glasses up my nose. I needed to make one with less recency bias, and a PG rating system to not trigger my Moral OCD quite so much (x_x). I recruited Laura for a more grounded side by side take. It was interesting gathering these characters – I realized we are in a bit of a renaissance with them. The pivot point really was Neon Vortext. Maybe danny saw what I saw, which was not just me but so many of his fans rushing to make art of that character. Funny that it is also what I consider the starting point of my spiritual awakening. It was the character illustration I busted out in half the time, after a series of coinicdences so dumb and jaw dropping (to me at least) that it pushed me into considering the metaphysical, possible. I don’t know if that chamge in direction was a concious shift for danny. It might just be something that has emerged from doing longer form videos, or the influence of having kids, but — selfishly, I’m here for it.
